Doggy at Portola Hotel & Spa, Monterey, CA - leave your computer home!

The Portola Hotel and Spa is very dog friendly, with lots of walks nearby too.  Upon check-in, people get a chocolate chip cookie and dogs get a bone made from the oats from the onsite brewpub.  Beware, as the internet connection here is poor in the lobby, and I saw many frustrated people walk in and out of the lobby trying to get a connection before their meetings at the Monterey Conference Center nearby.  Also, if you take a nap with a child and/or dog, make sure you call ahead and tell them to not be disturbed since we got two knocks on the door, and the door attempted to be open even with the "Do not disturb" sign on the door.  Mo loved this hotel, and it is a good place to explore Monterey with your pooch, so leave your computer at home and avoid frustration!  I wish I did!
