Meow At The Moon Festival in Oakland, CA

The Meow At The Moon Festival is a frolicking moonlit festival on Saturday, September 17th, supporting cats in need.  The event is from 6:30PM to 10:30PM in the plaza surrounding Oakland's city hall at Frank Ogawa's Plaza at 14th and Broadway.

This moonlit festival will feature a cat themed costume contest, music, drinks, food, dancing, a meowing contest, a cat video showcase, and many other surprises!

Cat Town is a 501C3 nonprofit.  It is in partnership with the Oakland Animal Services.  Cat Town has reduced the Oakland Animal Services euthanasia rate by 32%!

Cat Town Cafe and Adoption Center- A sweet place to hang out and socialize with a cat for an hour!

Cat Town Cafe is really a cafe, a place to grap a cup of coffee, tea, or snacks and visit with friends!  It is also a place to hang out with a cat for an hour (reservations are available for a $10.00 donation.)  I've been to this cafe with my son and it was so much fun to hang out with all the furry cute cats!  Cat Town has a partnership with the Oakland Animal Services in Oakland, CA.  The have reduced the shelter's euthenasia rate by 32%

They are having an event this weekend to raise money, called "Meow At the Moon.  See next post for more information!

We found out about dogs jobs in the military through the book, Military Animals, by Laurie Calkhoven.
