Yummy bone recommendation - Rachael Ray's Soup bones- Real Chicken & Veggies flavor

Our doggy loves Rachael Ray's soup bones!  Sometimes a chew lasts a few days, but tonight it tasted so good that it only last maybe an hour!  He really enjoyed it, then enjoyed a nap! What I love about these bones is that there is no fear of splintering and they are not messy.  Plus, they are easy to find at grocery stores such as Safeway, so they are great for traveling or visiting friends!  Giving a dog cooked bones can be dangerous because they can splinter and so these are a good alternative.

The recommended amount of chews is 10% of your dogs weekly calories, so our dog only has up to 2 to 3 a week.

The Grove in San Francisco - Dogs Allowed on Outside Patio

We had lunch at The Grove in San Francisco on MLK Day, right before heading across Mission St. to visit the Museum of the African Diaspora and Yerba Buena Gardens.  Great restaurant - comfort food.   And huge cookies!   Excellent atmosphere.  Dogs allowed on outside patio.  Dogs are not allowed at the Museum across the street.  We love The Grove, in San Francisco, there are a few locations.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!

Met a cute rescue, Corey from Korea, at a dog-friendly celebration at the MLK Memorial in Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco today.  Muttville.org rescued Corey from Korea.

Doggie on Carousel and little train at Tilden Park in Berkeley, CA

Today we went to the carousel and little steam train at Tilden Park. Both these areas of Tilden Park are very dog friendly.  We have taken Bo on the steam train many times, but this was the first time we took our doggy on the carousel.  The attendant said, "Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they need to be monitored and cannot walk around while the merry go round is moving."  Mo kept a  close eye on his boy, who was riding a horse on the carousel that was moving up and down.  We went the Tilden with our neighbors, all our kids, and Bo!

Tilden Park also has a snack bar and the guys both got hotdogs, soft pretzels and snacks.   I recommend that you bring doggy snacks and water, plus snacks for the people too!

Lazy Dog Restaurant in Concord, CA - Dog-Friendly Again

Lazy Dog in Concord, CA, at the Willows shopping center, now has a heated,  dog-friendly patio.  They had allowed dogs when they first opened, but had to stop due to complaints by someone who did not like dogs.  A new California law just went into effect on Jan. 1, 2015, and so dogs are now allowed again.

The patio has a great stone (gas) fire-pit.  Lazy Dog has a doggy-menu featuring chicken or burger and rice.

Doggy and son's best bedtime book - The Napping House by Audrey Wood and Don Wood

"It is raining outside.  Inside, a grandma is snoring.  In a cozy bed is joined by a dreaming child, a dozing dog, and a sleeping cat and mouse, but when a wakeful flea gets into bed, everyone gets a surprise."

We love this book!  The rhythm of the story helps put our son and doggy  to sleep every time.

This book is translated by Alma Flor Ada and F. Isabel Campoy.
